Windham Mountain in the Winter Time

Windham Mountain Sign

At Windham Mountain, located less than 2 hours from New York City in the Catskills on Route 23, you can enjoy skating, racing and tubing as well as very good downhill skiing. With 46 trails, a vertical rise of 1,600 feet and a 3,100-foot summit, Windham Mountain offers some of the best skiing in the areaWindham Mountain opens up for its fabulous winter season in early Novermber. Snow is blown out of the big snowmaking snow guns to get the season started. This snow is accumulated on 85% of the ski trails and is groomed so that skiiers, snowboarders, and snow shoers can enjoy the first of the trails and have an early start to the upcoming season. As the season progresses, more snow is blown to add onto the snow fall that Windham Mountain receives. Windham gets about 12 feet of natural snow every season, plus the snow that the snow guns produce for us each year. This makes skiing and snowboarding very enjoyable during the moths of Noverber, December, Januarry, February, and March. Through out the season, many events are held and many activities can be found on the mountain and at the base of the mountain. On the mountain there are many "toys" such as rails, boxes, jumps, and our newest and most popular feature, the Big Air Bag. At the base of the mountain, there are plenty of things to do such as Bungy jump, rock climb, and great food in the cafeteria and at Ledgends Bar. So whether you want to be riding on the mountain, or jst relaxing at the base, there are always plenty of activites for you to do. Windham Mountain is like a home away from home.
